Why Bua Timepieces

An Approach Built Around Your Piece

We work slowly and honestly — no pressure, no surprises, just careful attention to the watch in front of us.

Transparent Assessment

We examine each watch and share a clear picture of what we find before any work begins. You decide what happens next.

Respectful Handling

Every piece that arrives with us is treated with care appropriate to its history — whether it was bought last year or carried for decades.

Skilled Workmanship

Our workshop uses proper watchmaking tools and established techniques suited to both modern and vintage mechanisms.

Clear Communication

We keep you informed throughout the process, using plain language rather than technical jargon — so you always know where things stand.

Honest Pricing

Prices are stated upfront and written estimates are provided for larger work — no hidden costs appear after a service is complete.

Unhurried Pace

Good watchmaking cannot be rushed. We set realistic timelines and would rather take the time needed than hurry a piece out the door.

Questions

Things People Often Ask

How do I know which service is right for my watch?
We are happy to take a look and suggest what seems most suitable. Bring your piece in or send us a message with a brief description — there is no obligation to proceed with any work after the initial assessment.
How long does a full movement service take?
Gentle Care is usually completed within a few days. Full Movement Care typically takes one to two weeks. Heirloom Restoration may take several weeks depending on the condition and parts availability. We give a realistic estimate when we receive the piece.
Will you let me know the cost before doing anything?
Yes. For Gentle Care the price is stated clearly. For Full Movement Care and Heirloom Restoration we provide a written estimate before any work begins. No work proceeds without your agreement.
Do you work on both quartz and mechanical watches?
Yes. We service both quartz and mechanical movements. Vintage mechanical pieces are a particular area of interest for our workshop, especially heirlooms that have not been maintained for some time.
My watch has sentimental value. How do you handle pieces like that?
We understand that some watches carry meaning beyond their mechanics. We take extra care with such pieces and discuss every decision with you — particularly when it comes to cosmetic choices on vintage watches where originality matters.
Can I visit the workshop to discuss my watch in person?
Absolutely. We welcome visits to the workshop on Thanon Ratchadamnoen in Si Phum, Chiang Mai. Please feel free to come by during our opening hours or contact us to arrange a convenient time.
